Mechelen

It is saturday 9:30, time for a capucino and a huge applepie. What a coincidence: there is beautiful Mechelen with its Big Market square. It is very sunny so I look for the shadow, on the bike there is no protection. A good place to update my blog in English.

On thursday, my first day I went 186 km, until Dordrecht, quite a distance. So I thought the coming days I will make up a bit of my lost time. On friday I had to ride against a strong wind, so I did not do more than 105 km. It looked as if I had to learn to ride anew, or as if I had bubble-gum tyres.

I use a route description to Santiago (until the Pyrenees). So that is easy, but also a little bit slow, but the countryside and the roads are beautiful.

This morning I started with a leaking back tube. The valve was broken. So, again I could not leave before 7:30.

It looks as if I have to learn to slow down, my bike, the route, the weather and my body tell me.
