Billom (E)

I want to got to Burgundy and originally I tried to avoid, as much as possible, climbings. It is France so climbings are unavoidable. So, on second thought, I thought that it is still true that the shortest connection between two points the straight line is. So I drew a straight line to Taizé and planned my route around it. And it goes over two passes, one of 1050 m and the other over 1212 m. The alternative is about 100 km more riding and with a lot of climbings in it. It is only the idea!!!
After all those 2 passes were not so bad, only for some hours riding on and putting some more power on your legs, with some steep passages. It is only the idea!!!!
It is beautiful wheather today, bright, sunny and a little bit too hot. The last days were actually much better to cycle, many more clouds, and not too hot. Billom is a nice medieval town with some picturesque places.
On my way I met a german guy, with a bike, who had biked 35000 km all around the world in 2 years. He ran out of money so he had to go home again.
